It’s more often than I like to admit that I’ve had to buy a gift at the last moment, whether it be for Christmas or a birthday. Normally it stems from my partner going “Oh by the way, we need to bring a gift to this event.”
For some this can be extremely stressful, but it’s a skill that can be easily fine tuned with the right resources. Here are my tips for how limited your time is.
2 minutes or less
- Black or white gift bag that fits your gift
- Bright coloured tissue paper
- Ribbon of the same colour either slightly darker or lighter.
Place your gift in the bag, and stuff the sides and top with the tissue paper. Finish buy tie or sticking the ribbon on the bag. You can change up the bag too, so long as your colours match it.
5 minutes or less
- Coloured tissue paper
Place tissue paper underneath and on top of gift, treat it like padding. Tie your ribbon around the box and your done! Again, any colours will do so long as they match. If you want it to appear more rustic, go with neutral cardboard for the box, and twine.
10 minutes or less
- Glue stick
- Coloured shapes (hearts, stars etc.)
- Brown paper
- Twine or ribbon
Wrap your present in the brown paper. Glue the shapes on to the present, and wrap in ribbon or twine.
